MEET ONE OF OUR VETERINARIANS

Dr. Gerald Barker Jr., DVM, grew up in Johnson City, TN, where his passion for animals began at an early age. That love for animals led him to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, dedicating his life to helping pets live healthier, happier lives.

Dr. Barker has been involved in animal rescue for over a decade, using his expertise to support animals in need with compassionate, quality care. He joined forces with Your Local Fur Mama six months ago, bringing his skills as a veterinarian to the team and ensuring that the most vulnerable kittens and puppies receive the critical care they need to thrive.

Outside of his work with Your Local Fur Mama, Dr. Barker is a veterinarian at Middle Valley Animal Hospital in Hixson, TN. He currently resides in Soddy Daisy, TN with his wife Mika and their two children, Garrett and Ally.
